Whitianga

I spent the week in Whitianga for the NZ Phylogenetics meeting. It was a great spot for a conference and I made the most of being on the beach front. It brought back good memories from my childhood.

First light on the first day.
Dusk on the beach. We had just had a great meal of Fish and Chips.
Hot Water Beach (Raaz, me and Klaus). This is the coolest beach and the water is Really hot.
Raaz at sea. Eight of us went kayaking on the day off. We took the kayaks for four hours. It was really difficult getting out of the Estuary but after that we just cruised along. So fun!
